Mali Outreach to Street Ladies
Priority Project – 4-47401-43-44
Bamako, Mali
A ministry to prostitutes in the capitol city of Bamako (1.5 million pop.) has been started by Rev. Yiranou Traore and his wife, along with a Dutch worker, Carina Saarloos.
At one site, 120 ladies ply their trade in squalid conditions, among them widows abandoned by their extended families and young women lured to Bamako with a promise of a job that never materialized. Rev. Traore and his team visit the women, share the gospel and offer them a way out of their destructive lifestyle through job training and a small loan to start them on the road to hope.
Forty-two women now meet for prayer and Bible study. One of them, Precious, has returned to the Lord and started a roadside shop selling used clothes (pictured here).
A gift of $100 will allow us to give a loan that will provide a new start for women without hope.
