Pioneer Christian Hospital: Aid for Congolese Refugees
Priority Project –4-47401-42-36
Impfondo, Republic of Congo
As a result of fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), refugees have fled to the neighboring country of the Republic of Congo. A number of the sick and the wounded are receiving spiritual and physical aid at the Pioneer Christian Hospital in Impfondo. The team includes Dr. Stephen and Anna Wegner, an a IFAP (International Fellowship of Alliance Professionals) couple.
Currently, more than 50 percent of the patients need nutritional support, have only the clothes on their backs, and no means to pay for the assistance they are receiving. At the same time, Pioneer staff members are trying to stem the tide of a confirmed H1N1 outbreak that has already taken the lives of three children. The team is doing its best to stretch limited resources and minister effectively to desperate needs, but the stress of being so close to a war zone is starting to take its toll.
Your gift of $5 will pay for the care of a patient for one day. We invite your partnership in providing aid to these war-ravaged refugees.
