Africa and Asia
Moringa
trees are being planted by CAMA staff in Africa and Asia to provide a vitamin supplement and a cash crop for
people who suffer from nutritional deficiencies. CAMA is using this God-given gift to demonstrate His provision and
compassion for His lost children and to build a bridge to a verbal witness of His grace.
When used regularly in the diet, Moringa leaves can rebuild weak bones, inhibit tropical ulcers, enrich anemic blood, help control diabetes, lower high blood pressure, and strengthen malnourished children. It is being used with AIDS victims to boost their immune systems and give them extra energy. When measured gram-for-gram against other vitamin sources, the Moringa leaf contains four times the vitamin A of carrots, seven times the vitamin C of oranges, two times the protein of yogurt, three times the potassium of bananas, and four times the calcium of milk.
In areas where contaminated water contributes to 50 percent of medical problems, the powder from one Moringa seed can purify a liter of water. The tree is drought resistant and grows rapidly, thereby providing a ready source of fuel. Finally, it puts nitrogen back in the soil, which, in alley cropping, can increase the yield by as much as 30 percent. The Moringa Project provides funds for the purchase of land, training, and micro-enterprise loans.
Your support will help CAMA plant these vital trees in African and Asian communities.
