Hurricane Relief
Priority Project –4-47420
Gulf Coast region, United States
Labor Day usually brings that last long weekend of summer that we all enjoy. This year, for residents along the Gulf Coast, it brought the threat of a major hurricane and the need to evacuate. As many watched on news reports a hurricane hit that area for the second time in three years! Thankfully, the levies in New Orleans held.
However, reports from other locations such as Baton Rouge, LA indicate significant damage. The realities on the ground will become clear in the next few days as residents begin making their way back to their homes. And while that is occurring, hurricanes Hannah, Ike, and possibly Josephine are lined up in the Atlantic, raising concern for what the next week may hold for the coastal states.
In order to respond promptly to the needs caused by Gustav and in anticipation of possible impacts of the developing hurricanes, CAMA has allocated $30,000 for hurricane relief. More information on the actual situations, urgent needs, and responses will be available in the coming days.
Your gift will enable CAMA to touch the physical and spiritual needs that many will have following the hurricanes.
