Gjilan, Kosovo

picture of the gjilan outreach centerKosovo is slowly recovering from the after effects of civil war. Unemployment remains high, particularly among families with no outside resources such as family members living abroad.

A team of C&MA and CAMA workers has developed an outreach center which provides a coffee shop, photo copy services for educators, occupational therapy and training program, English classes and a worship/discipleship center.

In addition, CAMA continues to work with a handcrafts business in Kachanic, employing 280 part-time workers many of which are widows and of unemployed families. They crochet fine quality lace products, which are marketed in the U.S. through churches and individuals. The business is working toward self-sustainability ($22,000 in lace was sold this past year). Funds are needed for the Occupational Therapy program, English courses and other medical and humanitarian assistance.

Support the women of Kachanic thru the Kosovo Crochet Project.
