The aim
of this project is to teach the Khmer church the Biblical mandate for helping the poor. It includes a
small-scale, income-generating project, a community health project, and literacy training-all tied in
with the ministry and outreach of the local church.
A key component of the training is the formation of Help the Poor Committees (HPC’s). One HPC has a rice bank. They buy rice at harvest and then sell it to the poor at harvest cost later when prices are at their highest. The church contributes a portion of its money to the project and CAMA adds a portion.
A gift of $50 will provide a loan to a needy family.
