Over 35 million Africans suffer with AIDS—75 percent of the cases worldwide. Many are innocent women and children who were infected through a careless husband. In Burkina Faso alone, 58% of the HIV/AIDS cases are women and this leaves more than 30,000 children a year orphaned because of the virus. CAMA is caring for those living with and affected by AIDS in the Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso by providing grain, anti-retroviral drugs, microenterprise training and loans for affected family members capable of working. In addition, CAMA provides home visitation and pastoral care for patients and their families. Programs vary in each country, but in those where all the above interventions are used, $90/month will provide care for a person afflicted with HIV/AIDS.

Jesus cared for lepers, who were the untouchables in his day, and He expresses His compassion today through the hands of those who minister to those living with HIV/AIDS and their families. As requested, we can provide follow up information on those receiving assistance through your gift.
